Hi! I'm Beck

A design-centric programmer with a passion for web technology

About Me

I am an undergraduate student, currently studying Computer Science for Games at the University of Brighton. Having previously worked at digi.me, a small software company specialising in personal data ownership, I have built up a variety of technical skills which I am keen to take forward into new projects.

In my free time, I enjoy photography and videography, focusing on casual portraits, automotive and nature. Creative projects in these fields have led me to be experienced in several creative software suites, including Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects, as well as Blender for 3D Modelling and VFX.

Multi-purpose Discord Bot
JavaScript

An interactive Discord Bot built using the Discord.JS library. This was one of my early JavaScript projects, and first venture into Node.JS. Users could interface with the bot using ! as a prefix, then typing a command. Some of the commands included fetching a random gif from Giphy, messaging other users or checking the uptime of community game servers.

ARK: Survival Evolved - Mod Development Tutorials
Unreal Engine 4 (modified)

ARK: Survival Evolved has a large and active modding community, however, I noticed a grave lack of instructions or tutorials available online to get started. In 2016, I began making tutorials for developing game modifications and designing levels using the ARK Developer Kit, which were successful on YouTube and helped hundreds of people create their own additions to the game.

These tutorials included UE4 lanscapes, shaders and basic blueprinting. Creating them helped me advance my knowledge of Unreal Engine considerably.
